Kinnitty School Mission Statement:
Kinnitty N.S. is a Catholic,co-educational primary school which strives to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed. While Kinnitty National School is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions. Kinnitty National School will strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes. Kinnitty National School will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to imbue in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being responsible. Kinnitty National School will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and their involvement in the Kinnitty School Parents Association.
Our aims for the pupils of the school
To provide a challenging yet supportive environment to stimulate, maintain and develop a lively enquiring mind. To encourage all pupils to reach their true potential and eventually become leaders who value learning with and from others. To value application, perseverance, initiative, independence of thought and action and co-operation. To develop in pupils a sense of moral values which can form a framework for a sense of self-worth and relationships with others, so that pupils can become responsible members of society. To develop in pupils a positive attitude towards themselves with a strong sense of self respect. To develop a sense of respect for others, their property, ideas and beliefs irrespective of gender, race, disability, academic achievement etc. To appreciate human achievements, failures and aspirations. To develop positive attitudes towards and concern for the environment.

To offer a broad based curriculum in order to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, promote enjoyment in learning and to provide knowledge and skills to equip pupils for work and leisure as active, confident and responsible members of a rapidly developing society.

To foster close relationships between the school, pupil's homes and the local community. To develop a school community which affords equal value to all its members, is seen to be just and encourage mutual respect, concern for others and truthfulness.
