Thank you to Edel for coming in to talk to First-Fourth Class today about pollination. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning and looking at the different equipment. They even got to taste some honey!!

Well done to the sixth class girls who represented Kinnitty NS in the most enterprising student awards in Tullamore on Tuesday. The girls put in an exceptional amount of work over the past few months setting up their own buisnesses.They should be very proud of themselves!

To celebrate the conclusion of our book fair this week, the children dressed up as their favourite characters from a book today. Well done to everyone for their brilliant outfits.
Senior Infants and First Class having great fun dancing with Lisa! Yesterday, Fr O Meara kindly invited the pupils from second, fifth and sixth class to mass. After mass the students from sixth class who are going to make their Confirmation soon, planted a tree outside the church.
Thank you to Veronica Murray and Joan Hogan from the Brendan Pastoral Area for the wonderful retreat for our sixth class pupils in Kinnitty Community Centre on Wednesday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day.

On Wednesday, sixth class students went to a vex robotics competition in Gallen Community School. Well done to all involved.
As part of our journey of recieving our new wellbeing amber flag, today we implemented a whole school buddy reading system. This is where the children from the older classes buddied up and read to the younger children. We all enjoyed!
As part of our local history, senior infants and first class learned all about the history of the Kinnitty pyramid. We then went on a historical walk up to the pyramid.
Thank you to Maria Hartnett and Miriam O' Neill who very kindly played traditional music with the children as a celebration for Seachtain Na Gaeilge.
Second, third and fourth class participated in their first lego education workshop. As seen in the pictures the children were really busy learning to code and create various lego creations. Rob, the workshop co-ordinator will be back in April to checkin on their progress and also to show them the next stage in order to participate in their first lego league.
As part of procedural writing, today Mrs De Forge kindly baked brown bread with senior infants and first class. The children first had to identify the receipe, gather the correct ingredients and follow the instructions. The brown bread turned out delicious.
Well done to Grace in sixth class who represented the school at the Eason Spelling Bee in Scoil Naomh Colmcille, Durrow.
